Essay 1 Topic 3: Martin Luther started the Protestant Reformation when he nailed his 95 theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany on October 31, 1517. It contained a series of 95 complaints that the once monk had with the church. He was steadfast in his efforts to get the church to change. Even refusing to repeal his complaints when threatened with excommunication. He has many issues with the church, starting with indulgences. He found them rather unnecessary. He believed that one can gain salvation through faith alone. That ones works were not as important as a strong faith in Christ. Teaching needs to be from the bible itself and not from a priests interpretation. Even some of the later English kings like James I claimed divine right, as well so did Louis XIV of France. However all of this wouldnt have happened i f it wasnt for a man by the name of Charles Martel. Charles The Hammer Martel halted the encroaching IslÄ mic nation in October of 723. This battles regarded as one of the most important battles in the history of the world. The Muslim army had the army of Martel outnumbered greatly. That didnt stop the great military mind of Martel. He found out where the Muslims were camping at and he hit them there as well as on the battlefront. He won the Battle of Tours and prevent further Muslim encroachment. Had he of not succeed in doing what he was doing there is almost no argument to say that everyone in the world would belong to the IslÄ mic Church, speaking Arabic and living in a Muslim society. Martel started the Carolingian dynasty which ruled Europe for over a 100 years. The dynasty at its zenith was around 1.1km. This covered most of France all the way into Eastern Europe. The size of this dynasty must have gotten the eye the pope who crowned one of Martels successors emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. While studying many works of literature, several themes present themselves in in-depth readings, such as the theme of otherness in Albert Camus’ â€Å"The Guest†. This story centers on a character, an outsider, who is trying to fit into the society in the story. It may not be the fact that the stranger is different in looks, culture, or language like it is in this short story, but it is just the fact that they are not the same, which causes them to be the outsider and fulfill the role of the otherness. As we look through the short story ‘The Guest’, and through the short novel ‘The Stranger’, we can see that Albert Camus is working towards the idea of Otherness and how it can affect societies where the ‘otherness’ is seen as undesirable. One more thing that is synonymous between the two entrepreneurs is that they are operating their business using the least expensive tools that are instantly available to them. Connecting these entrepreneurs to the economy, I would say that conceptual economy enable the entrepreneurs to use both sides of their brain i.e. both left as w ell as the right side as they are not just focusing on technical skills but on their creativity and conceptualization as well and most of the entrepreneurs are working independently. It is therefore essential for the entrepreneurs to lead in conceptual economy and go for new ventures. It was Microsoft that started Facebook that is now very successful social networking arena. Initially Facebook was popular just amongst the teenagers and the students of high school but now it is being used by people of every group. Not just it provides the opportunity of social networking but it is also beneficial for businessmen especially young entrepreneurs that can highly help boost the economy of any country. Therefore, this economic model of conceptual economy has a great impact on every aspect of the society and in the later years, the entrepreneurs would be the ones who would be the true beneficiaries but the ones who take initiatives. Recommendations and conclusion In order to encourage the entrepreneurs to start their businesses and to promote them, the government should provide certain incentives to the entrepreneurs because entrepreneurs greatly help in boosting the economy and for this the government must also take some steps that would benefit the entrepreneurs and would eventually benefit the economy as well. The government should not just promote entrepreneurship but it must also enhance entrepreneurial dynamic and it should be treated as something very vital for a government to boost economic growth. The policies designed for the government especially for the entrepreneurs will have a more momentous as well as a direct impact on the programs designed to enhance businesses. It is essential for the government to coordinate these programs in an effective manner and support them in order to avoid any confusion and to help the entrepreneurs to focus more on utilization. The entrepreneurial activity should be increased as in the end it would benefit the overall economy of the state as the participation level especially of individuals between 25-44 years of age. Government should also encourage participation of women. Commitment and investment especially in the monetary terms as well as educationally are essential for growth of any business. Governments should therefore promote education and people should at least earn the graduation degree. It is also important to develop the capacity of an individual to recognize and pursue new opportunities other than just concentrating on making them gain knowledge and get education.
